Our Mission 〰️
To decrease maternal morbidity and mortality rates by supporting positive outcomes for BIPOC birthing people, mothers and babies. Thoughtfully connecting families with Doulas, education and support for a safe and healthy pregnancy, delivery and postpartum experience. Empowering Black Doulas to provide exceptional care and support to families through specialized training and educational advancement.
Committed to Quality Care
Nebraska Black Doula Collective (NBDC) is an Omaha-based, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded and led by Aledia Mikale and Asia Price.
The organization was born out of a need for quality care and representation in maternal health. As a result, Mikale and Price were determined to build their own “table” for their disinvested community to sit at — allowing birthing people to be heard, educated and given whole-person support.
NBDC has a competent database of certified Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) doulas providing support across the state of Nebraska.
These Doulas are ready to provide quality perinatal, birthing, and postpartum care.
